Why does Hydrant Contain a Small Amount of Sugar?+
The main reason is function, as sugar activates the sodium-glucose co-transport mechanism which is basically a molecular pump in your gut. When sugar is present, the pump is activated, which speeds up your absorption of electrolytes and water. Products without sugar are unable to take advantage of this effect. We also HATE that weird taste you get with diet sweeteners, even the natural ones. We would rather have a “less sweet” drink that tastes natural than add those.
What are the ingredients?+
Cane Sugar, Juice Powder, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Citrate, Citric Acid, Magnesium Gluconate, Salt, Zinc Gluconate. Please note the ingredients vary slightly depending on which flavor you buy. You can find specific lists on our product pages.
Why not just drink water?+
Water is great - it makes up 60% of our bodies, is refreshing, and important for your health. When you need a little more than just water, adding the right balance of electrolytes and a little sugar can help you absorb the water to your cells faster than water alone. Modern routines are more dehydrating than ever, so you need to replace the electrolytes you use so that your body can return to its optimum state, allowing you to perform at your best, whatever you like to do.
How much caffeine is in here?+
Hydrant Plus contains 100mg of caffeine and 200mg of i-theanine.
