Why does Hydrant contain a small amount of sugar?+
Function first, taste second. Sugar activates the sodium-glucose co-transport mechanism within your body, essentially working as a molecular pump in your gut. When the pump is activated (aka when sugar is present), your cells' absorption rate of electrolytes and water is sped up helping you hydrate faster. Products without sugar are unable to take advantage of this effect. And we can't forget about taste! Diet sweeteners, even the natural ones, take away from the refreshing, light taste of our product. We'd rather have a "less sweet" drink that tastes natural than add diet or artificial sweeteners.
What are the ingredients?+
Cane Sugar, Juice Powder, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Citrate, Citric Acid, Magnesium Gluconate, Salt, Zinc Gluconate. Please note the ingredients vary slightly depending on which flavor you buy. You can find specific lists on our product pages.
Why not just drink water?+
We're no stranger to being a big fan of water — it makes up 60% of our bodies, is refreshing, and important for your health. But when you need a little more than just water, adding the right balance of electrolytes and a little sugar can help your cells absorb water faster than just drinking water alone. Modern routines are more dehydrating than ever, making electrolyte replacement all the more necessary for your body to return to its optimum state, and let you perform at your best.
How much caffeine is in here?+
Hydrant+ contains 100mg of caffeine and 200mg of L-Theanine.
Why both caffeine and l-theanine?+
We've included both caffeine and L-Theanine in Hydrant+ to give you the boost of energy most commonly associated with a cup of coffee, and the sustained mental alertness that L-Theanine (derived from tea) offers. When the two are present in the body they work together as a team to give you a sustained period of focus without feeling fatigued. Talk about a dynamic duo!
